FALL DREAM WISH LIST IN MAY

In stores, the clothes hit the racks months before the weather allows you to wear them.  Even though snow is covering the streets, all the stores are selling summer shoes.  The winter shoes are on sale-  which is great-(if they have your size!).  But a lot of the time, my focus is on the next season and making sure to buy something delicious in my size (I am a size 41 or 10 shoe) before they´re long gone. Some of my dear purchases this season has been different colors of Pretty Ballerinas.  I live in those shoes because they fit my weird feet and they are actually comfortable.  They also look great with all Spring clothing- from dresses to shorts to slacks of all lengths! They are easy packable and are great to have in a bag when you´re tired from heels.  I swear I could buy 100 pairs since they have so many fun styles and patterns.  Pretty Ballerinas are my favorite.  OK...that´s my Spring Tip....now for a quick Fall tip- since before you know it....in the middle of Summer....they will be coming out with the Fall stuff!

You think shoes go fast?- so do jackets.  Since I live in a country with 9 months of winter, this is no surprise.  I am looking for an amazing Parka.  These types of jackets, coats- have been "in" for the last 3years, but I haven´t been able to find the perfect one....until NOW! (I remember using my Dad´s from the 60´s in the 80´s until it fell apart!)

 Check it out: http://mrmrsfurs.com

Looks like I have might have to travel to Milan to get one!  But, nevertheless, these jackets are on my Fall Dream Wish List!

Ageing these days....

Ok.  I totally can´t get these photos aligned the way I want to- but, I will enter this post just the same.  I am not a professional- otherwise I would be doing this for a living.  Anyways, here are some photos (taken by Joe Schildhom/BFAnyc.com) of Joan Rivers, Diane von Furstenberg and ZZ Top´s Billy Gibbons that I borrowed from Style.com. These are people well over 50 years that have a profound different approach for tackling age.  One thing these three share in common is humor.  Joan is hilarious and has made her living being so, Diane is known for her "happy in life" style in fashion and this guy Billy- takes cool to another level then just his music! You may have your views on Plastic Surgery, like I sure do- but, heck, who are you to judge.  Whatever makes people happy- and these three are good examples.

I apologize for the open spaces- but, you could use your imagination and put one of your people over 50 in! (or send me tips of how to get this right!)

Love this color!  What would you call this color? Hmmm...the closest name I can think of is a dark Robin´s Egg color.  Yes, that´s it!  Well, it´s a perfect "pick me up" color as well.  To be honest, I bought one identical for my girlfriend´s birthday and I thought about it so much that I bought one for me as well!  I normally don´t like to do that but, we don´t go everywhere together- so I´m sure to get away with it!  But, isn´t that many times the case?- that you buy something for someone that you love yourself and want to keep?  Yes, well, this is a big problem for me since I love all things beautiful!

This color scarf looks great with grey, white and black stripe Marc Jacobs sweater!  And, of course, the scarf is cashmere and Italian!  Ahhh!

Dressed up for Mountain Lodging

Bought this outfit at a local ski shop where we have our cabin- half price because it is the end of the season.  I´ve always had a thing for knickers.  I guess you probably think I look like a boy here.  I actually love wearing this type of look.  It is so relaxing and cool looking.  It´s the sporty side of me.  It´s comfortable and it´s rugged and it´s a type of outfit that fits these surroundings.  The UGG boats are mandatory.  They are the warmest boats and great for the snow- but are so slippery on ice!  I should write to them to consider using a softer type of rubber that does not slip as much.  But, here I stand straight and tall- all dressed up to go....

Everyone needs a hat and scarf!

Here´s my dear girlfriend from Scotland and myself riding a buggy in NYC!  Love this moment!  I had to have this photo in -to write about her hat and my scarf!  Since she is a woman of style, she found this in a store and fitted her perfect!  How awesome is she in this hat?!  The hat is bought at Uniqlo (love that store!!!!!), a Japanese brand, in the city.  -An all round hat that keeps the sun, rain and cold off!  My scarf is wonderful, as well!  It´s italian, bought at my local shop, Paula´s, here in my little home town here in Norway.  The color is wonderful and it´s a real pick-me-up anytime! And it´s warm, soft and is one of many that I live in all year round!

Dye Dipping

Dipping clothing items into different colors of dye seems to the "in thing" this season.  I love this blouse from Acne.  It would look great with a pair of jeans, white trousers or shorts.  This one is a hit with my 19 year old.  But, can a fashionable, modern and young 45 year old- work it?  I think in the summer- I could get away with it!  This is cool, cool, cool like our Norwegian ocean!

Long time no see or write!

(I have newly added reading glasses to my accessories)

I´ve been out of this thing for a while.  I´ve been spending all my time checking a lot of other blogs like The Sartorialist, Sandras Closet, The Blond Salad and Linda Wright´s blog.  In the back of my mind, has been my own blog- but I had lost interest and felt that the world doesn´t need another blog.  But then I recalled why I started this in the first place- and that was for me.  So, in spite of having a couple of followers- I do have a few and I owe them and myself -to come back ....so- I AM OFFICIALLY BACK!  So, stay tuned!

All my best, Katy
